Camp fYrefly Saskatchewan is pleased to be delivering its 11th annual leadership retreat for gender and sexually diverse youth this summer in Saskatoon, August 15th - 18th, 2019.
Camp fYrefly was founded in 2004 at the University of Alberta (www.fYrefly.ualberta.ca) and is Canada’s largest, volunteer-based, summer leadership retreat for gender and sexually diverse (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two spirit) and allied youth.
In 2008, in partnership with the Faculty of Education, University of Regina and the College of Education, University of Saskatchewan, committees of dedicated volunteers were formed by Anthony Bidulka and Herb McFaull to bring Camp fYrefly to Saskatchewan.
In 2017, a partnership with OUTSaskatoon, an LGBTQ2S community based organization that provides support, education, social events, and sexual health services, was established. This partnership enables links between Camp fYrefly and year round youth education and programming to exist in our province!
