Jane and Ron Graham Centre

for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is the systematic study of teaching practices and learning experiences, where the goal is to improve student learning in the classroom or discipline.

The Graham Centre for SoTL provides a place for faculty, students, and researchers to reflect on their own teaching practices, exploring the scholarly literature and learning, engaging in research about these practices, and then disseminating findings to others.  The goal is to sharing their experiences in ways that enhance the application of teaching and learning practices to benefit all stakeholders in education, and it provides a space and community for interdisciplinary researchg on teaching and learning across disciplines.

The Centre offers graduate programs and professional events to develop leaders who can use SoTL to create change in their own organizations.  Our graduate and certificate programs are the first in Canada to prepare professionals who specialize in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

"Dr. Hamilton is a master in her field.  Every class was a fun and interactive session.  The assignments and activities were extremely interesting and helped me learn at my own pace.  I believe SoTL should be taken by every student who sees their future in academics".

Kashika Sethi, PhD student, Food Science

We work collaboratively with the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning, the University Library, and across disciplines to enhance teaching and learning practices at the University of Saskatchewan and beyond.
