The Jane and Ron Graham Centre for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and the Office of the Provost is pleased to announce SoTL Faculty Fellows through the STAR (Scholarly Teaching and Research) Connect initiative.
Detailed information and application
The STAR Connect: Scholarship, Teaching and Research initiative aims to seamlessly integrate the University's Signature Areas of Research with excellence in teaching and learning. Specifically, the goal is to establish a supportive and innovative environment where faculty and students engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) on innovative strategies over a two-year period.
Two SoTL Faculty Fellows will be selected from each of the University of Saskatchewan's themes: Health, Planet, and Society for a total of six faculty fellows.
ELIGIBILITY:- Tenure-Track and Tenured Faculty members from each of the three thematic groupings:
- Health - Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy & Nutrition, Kinesiology, School of Public Health, WCVM, and Arts & Science.
- Planet - Engineering, Agriculture & Bioresources, SENS and Arts & Science.
- Society - Education, Edwards School of Business, Johnson-Shoyama School of Public Policy, Law, and Arts & Science.
- Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and a strong interest in integrating research and teaching.
- Familiarity with the principles of the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) is desirable.
FUNDING:
- Selected faculty will receive funding of $10,000 over two years.
APPLICATIONS:
- Interested faculty members will submit an application that includes:
- a cover letter expressing their motivation to participate in the fellowship.
- A CV highlighting their teaching experience, resedarch interests, any previous engagement with SoTL, and teaching awards.
- A proposal outlining their intended SoTL research project related to one of the university's signature research areas, highlighting potentialimpact to advance EDI and Indigenization (connecting explicitly with the EDI framework for action and Ohpahotân).
