Each parching oven is 10 m long. It takes about 20 minutes for the wild rice to make its way through each oven. At the other end of the first parching oven [left], the hot wild rice is transferred to a second parcher [right], and the process is repeated all over again. This continues through a third and fourth parcher. Total parching time is about one and a half hours.
