Quality control is very important in our plant.

One instrument in our lab is a large magnifying glass surrounded by a bright light. This allows us to accurately see the colour, quality, and cleanliness of a sample of wild rice.

We always need to know the percent of water content in the kernels or grains of wild rice. We measure this water content (sometimes called "moisture content") in our little laboratory.

We use two methods. The first method is an old reliable way but it takes much longer than a newer quicker second method.
