Jared Crane is graduating from the Cree Teacher Education Program, delivered in partnership with the Northern Lights School Division, with a Bachelor of Education degree. Crane is consistently described as hard working, creative and committed to his students. Crane completed his extended placement at Ministik Community School in his home community of Cumberland House.

His co-operating teacher described Crane as “an excellent role model who will make a remarkable teacher.” They explained that “Jared impacted us with his understanding of curriculum, course content and incorporating the Cree language and culture in all that he taught.”

Jared wants to thank everyone who supported his educational journey, including his family, his girlfriend Tracy, and his daughters, Hallie, Adrielle and Jaycee. His greatest teachers are his parents and grandparents to whom he says “all I ever wanted was to make you proud and live a good life – this is for you."

Crane was previously recognized for his academic excellence during the Indigenous Student Achievement Awards Ceremony on March 9.

Together, we will work towards Truth and Reconciliation. We invite you to join by supporting Indigenous achievement at USask.
