PhD from University of Calgary after a non-linear youth fliting from a stint playing bass guitar in a rock group, working on an oil rig, and teaching in Northern Alberta and the United States. Background in psychology, statistics, research methods and philosophy (undergraduate and graduate course work in philosophy). Since retirement he has been interested in philosophical psychology, philosophy of science topics and the social and ethical implications of emerging technologies. He is presently collaborating on research projects with colleagues in the U of S Department of Mathematics and U of S College of Medicine.
