Dr. Jing Xiao is Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Administration. She holds a PhD in Adult, Community, and Higher Education from the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta. Prior to coming to Canada, she was an Assistant Professor at Xiamen University, China. Her primary areas of research and teaching include comparative and international education, and the governance and administration of higher education. Particularly, her research focuses on the internationalization of higher education and investigating the benefits and challenges of developing international partnerships between universities.

Dr. Xiao has presented at national and international conferences and has been invited to give keynote presentations and lectures internationally. She is currently working on several funded research projects investigating governance and administration issues in international higher education. Her most recent research projects include: exploring policies and strategies in partnerships between Chinese and Canadian universities; investigating the impact of internationalization of higher education on provincial educational policy; and understanding challenges in developing bridging programs for internationally educated teachers in Canada.
